As H.G. Fenton Company’s Construction Manager, Brian Gates manages the design, permitting, bidding, construction and tenant relations for all of the organization’s commercial development projects. Gates plays an integral role in achieving the company’s goal of growing the development efforts to 300,000 – 500,000 square feet per year.

Prior to joining H.G. Fenton Company, Gates worked for five years with a large commercial general contractor where he took part in managing all aspects of a variety of construction projects. These projects included a 213,000-square-foot residential condominium high-rise, a 60-acre pharmaceutical manufacturing campus, a 70,000 square foot culinary innovation center, and a 75,000-square-foot chemistry and biology lab/office facility.

Gates received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Phoenix and received his Certification in Real Estate Finance, Investments and Development from the University of San Diego. He is a member of the San Diego chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
