Allen Jones
Vice President/Planning & Land Development
In his position as vice president of planning and land development with H.G. Fenton Company, Allen Jones is responsible for all planning, entitlement and land development efforts through H.G. Fenton Development Company.
Jones, who joined H.G. Fenton Company in 1990, has been responsible for facilitating such noteworthy land development and master planning efforts including Carlsbad Raceway Business Park, Carlsbad Research Center, Fenton Technology Park, Mission City, and aggregate and salt facility permitting. In addition to his efforts in San Diego County, he is also actively involved in the company's land development activities outside the area including Inland Empire.
Jones has more than 30 years of experience, including previously serving as the deputy planning director for the City of San Diego where he oversaw several hundred land planning and development projects.
Jones holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of California, San Diego, and a master's degree in environmental management from Colorado State University. He is current chairman of the California State Mining and Geology Board, and former chairman of the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District Hearing Board.
