Geoffrey "Geoff" Swortwood
Vice President, Commercial Building Development

As H.G. Fenton Company's vice president of commercial building development, Geoffrey "Geoff" Swortwood oversees all of the organization's commercial development activities through H.G. Fenton Development Company. This includes growing the company's development efforts to 300,000 to 500,000 square feet annually in new industrial, office, medical office and education facilities to meet the needs of customers throughout San Diego and South Riverside counties.

During his 14-year tenure with H.G. Fenton Company, Swortwood's accomplishments include working closely with CEO and President Mike Neal on the successful restructuring and diversification of the company's real estate portfolio, as well as the expansion of its in-house property management department. Swortwood is actively involved in corporate strategic planning, particularly as it relates to meeting the needs of current and future H.G. Fenton Company tenants through product development.

Swortwood received a bachelor's degree in economics and organizational studies from Pitzer College, and a master's degree in business from Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. He serves on the board of directors of the San Diego chapter of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and serves on the board of Lpath, a publicly held life science company.
