H.G. FENTON COMPANY EARNS HIGH MARKS FROM SAN DIEGO COUNTY APARTMENT ASSOCIATION FOR RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

SAN DIEGO, December 14, 2011 – For the ninth straight year, H.G. Fenton Company has exceeded its year-over-year achievement in the San Diego County rental housing market, earning 33 Mark of Excellence Awards from the San Diego County Apartment Association (SDCAA), its highest number of awards ever and up from 25 awards in 2010.

“This is such an honor, and means so much to the entire H.G. Fenton Company team which is dedicated to providing quality places for people to live and work,” said Carroll Whaler, H.G. Fenton Company’s vice president of residential asset management.

“We continually challenge ourselves to improve our best practices to ensure our residential customers enjoy a positive experience,” she said.  “Our focus is on offering amenities they value and properties that are well-maintained and staffed with personable, responsive managers and maintenance personnel.”

H.G. Fenton Company owns and manages 12 apartment communities totaling over 3,000 homes in key areas of San Diego County.  This year’s Mark of Excellence Awards honored the company across nine categories with multiple awards earned in several areas.

Achieving Rental Community of the Year honors were four H.G. Fenton communities:

  • Aquatera in Mission Valley, taking the first place award for communities with 151-300 units
  • Bella Del Mar in Del Mar, taking first place for communities with 51-150 units
  • Scripps Landing in Scripps Ranch, ranking second for properties with 151-300 units
  • El Dorado Hills in Tierrasanta, ranking third for communities with 301 or more units

Aquatera, a 254-unit luxury community in Mission Valley that opened in 2009 to rave reviews for design, amenities and service, was honored with third place in the Property Team Achievement of the Yearcategory.

In the Rental Manager/Owner-Operator of the Year category for properties with 1–300 or more units, the number of H.G. Fenton Company honorees doubled over last year and were:

  • Luanne Berry, Bella Del Mar
  • Kimberly Duggan, Solana Highlands
  • Christopher Ramirez, Tierrasanta Ridge
  • Kimberly Brown, River Front
  • Irina Polyak, Aquatera
  • Olivia Connolly, Club River Run

Assistant Managers of the Year were:

  • Duy Tran of Aquatera, first place (101-300 units)
  • Jonathan Herbert of Portofino first place (1-300 units)
  • Michael Sparaco of Tierrasanta Ridge, second place (301 or more units)
  • Omar El-Mofty of Club River Run, third place (301 or more units)

H.G. Fenton Company Leasing Professionals of the Year were Kevin Grayson and Rachel Tajuna, both of Aquatera, who earned first place awards for properties with 1–300 units; Holly Benson of El Dorado Hills, Tierrasanta, who won first place for properties with more than 301 units; and Lindsey Dick of Portofino, Mission Valley, who was honored with third place for properties with more than 301 units.

In the “Maintenance Supervisor of the Year” category, H.G. Fenton award winners included Arturo Jauregui of Evening Creek, Sabre Springs, Lee Young of Tierrasanta Ridge and Jack Prosser of Portofino.

Maintenance Technicians of the year included first, second and third place distinctions in the 1-300 units category as well as a second place award for more than 301 units. Honorees were Cliff Brown of Aquatera, Felipe Estrada of Seagate in Carlsbad, Chris Homer of El Dorado Hills, and Javier Duarte, also of Seagate.

First through third place accolades for the “Porter/Groundskeeper/Housekeeper of the Year” in the 1-300 unit category, were awarded to H.G. Fenton Company’s Alfredo Serrano of Aquatera, Ana Sosa of Solana Highlands in Solana Beach, and Milagros Perez of Evening Creek. H.G. Fenton Company also earned first through third place awards in the 301 or more units in the same category. Award recipients included: Guillermo Sarinana of Tierrasanta Ridge, Arcelia Pimentel of Portofino, and Javier Mendoza of El Dorado Hills.

The “Bookkeeper of the Year” distinction was awarded to H.G. Fenton Company’s Jessica Estrin.
